Work.
KickStand Coffee & Kitchen was born April 2015, brain-child of Nick Hardin. On the back of ten years in the food service industry, Nick took a leap of faith, and started his own business. While it was terrifying, he knew it would open doors in the future, and give him the opportunity to pursue his dreams.
In the Fall of 2016, after a "meeting of the minds", Kim left her job as a Personal Trainer and Exercise Specialist at Mid-Columbia Medical Center, to join Nick at KickStand, and the rest is history.

KickStand is to Hood River what french fries are to burgers. What was once a small coffee shop with minimal breakfast was transformed into a full-service restaurant and cocktail bar by night, and coffee shop/burger joint by day. Menus feature local, sustainable ingredients and world flavors, amidst in-house roasted coffee, house-made donuts, smores (at the outdoor fireplace!) and more.
Community is the foundation of KickStand, giving not only support but direction in terms of growth. Each year, KickStand raises over $15,000 within the community for causes such as: Kiteboard 4 Cancer, Hood River Valley High School Ski, Snowboard and Nordic Teams, Slider Project (Kiteboarding Trick features), Gorge Owned (representing local businesses), VeloSolutions Pumptrack installation & more!
KickStand is forever evolving, blending a passion for food with a love of community.
On any given day, you can find Kim and Nick working 55-60 hour weeks running their business, while balancing the training and travel required of a professional athlete.
